Scott Speed became the first driver to sustain significant damage at Darlington in the first practice session. He not only "striped" his car, he looped and crashed. Speed will have to roll out a backup car.
Our View: This is an even bigger issue for Speed since he is one of the drivers required to qualify on time. As a rookie, however, Speed would not be a great value even if he makes the show.
